  3. An insured person must be in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years.
  4. Unemployment, contingency should not result in misconduct or redundancy or voluntary retirement or any punishment.
  5. It is necessary to have the Aadhaar card number linked with the bank account of the insured person.
  6. If the nominee in the scheme is working for more than one employer, then he/she will be considered unemployed only if he/she is fired by all the employers.
  7. The applicant should not be a beneficiary of any other similar scheme.
  8. Employees who are covered under section 2 (9) of the Employees State Insurance Act – 1948. They can take advantage of this Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana ESIC.
  9. The insured should be unemployed during the period for claiming relief.
  10. The insured shall not be able to avail any other cash compensation for the same period and relief under Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana simultaneously.

Old Eligibility Criteria of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY)

  1. The scheme provides relief up to 25% of the average daily earnings (for the last four contribution periods).
  2. Relief payments will be made after 90 days of unemployment.
  3. Payments are made for a maximum of 90 days of unemployment at one time during the life of the insured.
  4. The insured should be in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years. The insured should have a contribution of at least 78 days during the preceding four contribution periods.
  5. Contributions in relation to the employee must be paid or payable by the employer.

New Eligibility Criteria of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY)

  1. For maximum 90 days of unemployment, the amount paid under the scheme has been increased from 25% of the average wage to 50%.
  2. The insured can submit the claim directly to the ESIC branch office instead of the claim being forwarded by the last employer and payment will be made directly to the insured’s bank account.
  3. Instead of paying relief after 90 days of first unemployment, now payment will be made after 30 days.
  4. The insured should be in insurable employment for a period of at least two years prior to his unemployment and his contribution should not be less than 78 days in the contribution period immediately before unemployment.
  5. There should be a minimum contribution of 78 days in one of the remaining three contribution periods before 2 years of unemployment.
