Atal Tunnel : Atal Tunnel is also known as Leh Manali Rohtang Tunnel. The Atal Tunnel is built on the Leh-Manali highway in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh. It has been constructed on a highway under the Rohtang Pass in the Eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. The length of the Atal Tunnel is 9.02 km i.e. 5.6 miles.

Atal Tunnel is the highest altitude tunnel in the world. It is built 10,000 feet (3,048 m) above sea level. The distance between Manali and Leh has been reduced by 46 km (28.6 mi) due to the construction of the Atal Tunnel. This tunnel will save 4 to 5 hours of travel time between Manali and Leh.
The tunnel is named after former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
