Rapid Rail is inspired by the Lotus Temple of Delhi
The design of RRTS trains is inspired by the iconic Lotus Temple of New Delhi. The Lotus Temple is the symbol of an energy-efficient building, as its design maintains the natural flow of light and air.
Similarly, the RRTS train will also have a light and temperature control system that will give passengers a comfortable experience despite the reduced energy consumption. The RRTS train equipped with modern facilities will be a unique combination of new age technology and India’s rich heritage.
Rapid Rail Project in India
Rapid Rail Project in India : Thousands of travellers from Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh visit Delhi every day, but till now all the travellers rely only on Indian Railways for their journey, which is always a victim of late. Due to which these people have to face a lot of difficulties.
In view of this difficulty, the government has launched Rapid Rail Project in India to connect India’s capital New Delhi with these states. Its mission is to provide high speed transport to the daily commuters from Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to Delhi.
Rapid Rail Project in India is a project started many years ago, but it was always late due to the woes of state governments and land acquisition problems.
But now progress is being made in the construction of Rapid Rail Project in India.
What is Rapid Rail Project
Rapid Rail Project is under construction by NCRTC. The full form of NCRTC is National Capital Region Transport Corporation. The purpose of the Rapid Rail Project is to connect the capital of India with high-speed rail network to nearby states such as Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The Rapid Rail Project will be operated by NCRTC, a joint venture company of the central government and the states. NCRTC is the nodal agency implementing the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project in the National Capital Region.
Rapid Rail Project will provide better connectivity and access to the National Capital Region, thereby promoting sustainable urban development.
Impact of Rapid Rail Project on National Capital Region
Sustainable Urban Development
Fast transit systems (Rapid Rail Project) are being built to achieve sustainable urban development in the National Capital Region of India and its adjoining states. The Rapid Rail Project will activate processes that enable sustainable economic and social development of the region along with environmental protection for future generations.
Balanced economic development of the region
Rapid Rail Project in NCR will provide high speed connectivity. Due to which there will be balanced economic development in the area and every section of the society will get benefits. In addition, high speed connectivity will create a better environment and model of development by having all economic activities at one place.
Lower Carbon Emissions and Reduced Congestion
Rapid Rail Project will reduce pollution, as all will be Train Electric. With this, more passengers will be able to travel by having a train at high speed (average 100 km per hour).
Its railway track will be only 3 meters wide, while more land has to be used to build a road. After the construction of Rapid Rail Project, roads will reduce congestion, it will reduce vehicular pollution and will also reduce traffic burden.
